From Yummm!, the Metro Pulse Restaurant Guide:

What is one of Downtown Knoxville’s most popular restaurant and tourist destinations? The French Market Crêperie, but of course! The experience has been compared to “a trip to France without the airfare.” Outside under the cute covered patio, Parisian-style tables and chairs invite you to sit under the umbrellas and watch the city go by, with classic French and jazz music playing in the background. Open the door and inside is the scent of sweet and savory crêpes cooking on the griddles, brewed espresso, and baking pastries. Notice the décor, the artwork and ambiance... You have arrived to a unique dining experience found nowhere else in Knoxville.

The French Market Crêperie was created by owners Allen and Susan Tate, who spent several winters living in a Paris pied-à-terre and wanted to replicate their experience of good food in a casual atmosphere at a good price. Now celebrating its fifth year, the Crêperie features over 40 sweet and savory crêpes along with baguette and croissant sandwiches, soups, and French pastries.

The French Market Crêperie has many menu combinations to tempt you—basics from the popular Parisian Ham & Cheese to favorites like Turkey Spinach and Artichoke, the Veggie Deluxe on a buckwheat crêpe, the Roast Beef & Swiss with horseradish sauce, or the classic Smoked Salmon crêpe with capers & red onions. Daily “Du Jour” specials may include Roasted chicken with Portobello Mushroom cream sauce, Roast Beef with Asparagus and Béarnaise or the popular “Thanksgiving Crepe” with Roasted turkey, Stuffing and whole cranberry relish. Winter months feature Beef Bourguignon Stew served with crusty French bread, baked French Onion soup or warm baked brie with honey and nuts. Save room for a Strawberries & Crème crepe with luscious whipped crème and almonds or the crowd favorite Nutella with strawberries or bananas and chocolate.

Open for breakfast every day, their classic French brunch menu served on Saturdays till noon and all day Sunday, has become a downtown tradition. Customers really enjoy their breakfast crêpes with eggs, bacon, or sausage, and veggies, incredible omelettes, fresh baked chocolate croissants or croissants with fig honey butter, and the house specialty, Crêpes Benedict. And of course, they serve the best-selling coffee and espresso in Europe: LavAzza!

Featured in Southern Living Magazine and given a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award for 2013, The French Market Crepêrie is open daily for breakfast and lunch, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings until 9 p.m. and Friday & Saturday until 10 p.m.
